Goose Hunts

Excellent Goose hunting in combination with
Ducks and Perdiz can be found in the Province of Buenos Aires, in the outskirt farming district of Bahia Blanca.
Between May and August, huge numbers of Magellan and Ashy-headed geese migrate North from the Patagonia to spend the winter
there, feasting on sunflowers, corn, sorghum and other crops. These geese having lived most of their lives in the vast desolate Patagonia, with little or no contact with man and the light hunting pressure they get,
makes them react to calls and decoy like no other geese you have ever hunted.
The hunting is done by laying in a pit in a recently cultivated field were geese have previously been scouted and found feeding. Decoys will be set all around you.
There will normally be 2 or 3 hunters with one guide , and sometimes you will hunt between feeding and roosting
areas.
Shooting 4 to 6 boxes of shells is not uncommon in a morning hunt.
This is also a great hunt to add on to or combine with the Cordoba Dove, Pigeon or Duck hunt.
By adding on 2 or 3 days, you will be able to experience some of the best goose hunting in the world, along with good
Duck and Perdiz hunting over dogs.
Good duck hunting is also found in the area and can be substituted for a morning goose hunt, when you plan to stay more
than 2 days.
Afternoons are usually spent hunting Perdiz with dogs. With a bag limit of about 15 birds,
it is by no means high volume shooting, but it is a wonderful experience to watch the dogs work and to be able to hunt truly wild
birds and always find the possibility of a few hares in between.
On some occasions Duck hunting can be substituted for Perdiz hunting.
The accommodations are in a beautiful Estancia, were you will have breakfast and dinner. After the morning hunt you will visit nearby towns which are close to the hunting area.
There you will stop for lunch in typical Argentine Restaurants. The driving distance varies due to the movement and migration of the geese.
It can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 1 1/2 hours from the lodge, or from one hunting area to another.
The Cost of the Hunt is $600 per
day.
The Cost
for a Non-Hunter is $220 per day.
